Corum scores 5 points, No. 4 Michigan beats Connecticut 59-0

Ann Arbor, Michigan (AP) – Blake Corum hit a school record with five touchdowns, helping fourth-seeded Michigan beat Connecticut Saturday 59-0 in their third straight season opener defeat.

Corum is not ready to celebrate.

He admitted “I don’t know how good we are. We look good. I feel like we’re going to be great, but I can’t say yet.”

“I can tell from the appearance of things, that the sky is the limit for this crime.”

Corum started the scoring barrage with a 20-yard dash in the opening round of the game and scored three points from 1 yard before halftime. His 11-yard touchdown late in the third quarter tied the school’s one-game record set by Ron Johnson in 1968 and equaled Hassan Haskins in last year’s win over Ohio State.

The Wolverines (3-0) led 38-0 in the first half before falling back in the second half of a game that looked a lot like the first two adjustments, when they beat Colorado State 51-7 and Hawaii 56-10.
